How to Send Flowers to a Cruise Cabin in New York or Cape Liberty

New York is three ports pretending to be one. Manhattan is on the Hudson in the West Forties, Brooklyn is in Red Hook, and Cape Liberty is in Bayonne, New Jersey, across the harbour. They are not near each other. Royal Caribbean, the largest operator in the region, sails from the New Jersey one, which is the single fact that catches most senders out.

Volume figures count passenger movements, which include people getting off as well as getting on. They indicate how busy a port is, not how many cabins sail from it.

Which of the three paths works here

1

Cruise line pre-order

7 lines sailing from New York and Cape Liberty run their own gift desk with a published ordering deadline. This is the only route that puts flowers in the cabin. The deadlines are below and they are earlier than most people expect.

2

Pre-cruise hotel drop

Strong in Manhattan, where hotel density and florist density are both as high as they get anywhere. The discipline here is confirming which terminal, because it tells you which side of the water they will sleep on. A Cape Liberty passenger staying in Bayonne is not served well by a Midtown florist, and the reverse is worse.

3

Terminal and pier delivery

All three are secured terminals under Port Authority or private operation. A Manhattan florist cannot walk a delivery onto the pier at West 48th Street, and the Bayonne facility is a former military ocean terminal with correspondingly serious access control.

Cruise line gift desks at New York and Cape Liberty

One listing per line, carrying that line's own published wording. Where a line contradicts itself, the listing prints both statements rather than choosing between them.

Terminals

TerminalAddressGenerally serves
Manhattan Cruise Terminal Hudson River between West 44th and West 52nd Streets Carnival, Norwegian, Holland America, Oceania, Princess, Seabourn and Regent Seven Seas
Brooklyn Cruise Terminal Red Hook, Brooklyn Cunard, MSC, Princess and Virgin Voyages
Cape Liberty Cruise Port Bayonne, New Jersey Royal Caribbean and Celebrity

Terminal assignments change between seasons and between ships on the same line. Confirm against the booking before you rely on one.

Where the pre-cruise hotels are

A hotel drop only works if you send to the building the guest is actually sleeping in. These are the clusters that matter at this port.

Midtown West and Times Square

Minutes from the Manhattan terminal and where most New York cruise passengers actually stay. The densest and most reliable target here.

Downtown Brooklyn and Red Hook

Nearest to the Brooklyn terminal, though many Brooklyn-terminal passengers still stay in Manhattan and taxi across.

Jersey City, Bayonne and Newark Airport

The right side of the harbour for a Cape Liberty sailing, and a completely different delivery zone from Manhattan.

No florist listed for this port yet

We have not yet found a florist serving New York whose own published material names the hotels used by embarking passengers or documents a cruise delivery process. Until one clears that bar it does not go on this page. Most search results for florists near a cruise port are national order-gathering sites that pass the order to whoever will take it, which is exactly the arrangement that fails on a sailing morning.

If the ship has already sailed

New York sailings to Bermuda and Canada leave in the afternoon and the terminals clear quickly. There is no way to reach the ship afterwards. Cunard transatlantic crossings from Brooklyn are the least forgiving of all, since the next stop is Southampton.
